Py-Net Blog

Hello and welcome to Py-Net Blog! My name is Matej Radosovsky, and I currently work as an SD-WAN specialist. The motivation behind creating this blog was to challenge myself and prove that I can create a complete web experience, from concept to execution, independently.
In my professional life I work with SD-WAN (Fortinet), Jinja, Ansible, Linux, LAN/WAN, Python and Git. Previously, I have held roles as project manager and change supervisor. Besides my professional life, I am broadening my knowledge by working on passion projects like this blog. The blog you browsing is build with Django + Postgres deployed to Azure web service. Deployment process is automated trough GitHub Actions.
Here, you'll find a sample of Python projects that I've worked on.

FortiGate HA modes and their main differences

As a network engineer you often receive orders from the project team and you are going to implement standard design that is tested across multiple environments, especially if you work in corporation with dozens of customers, linked processes and rules in place. If you are going to touch a critical environment, there is not much freedom to implement new ideas. All the rules in place limit you and after some time you are doing things automatically without even thinking about challenging existing design.

Why and how to use Python Virtual environments?

Why and how to use Python Virtual environments?

When I started with Python I did not pay attention to virtual environments. I came here to learn programming, not virtual environments, right? Did not take long and I realized that I should have invested maybe 20 minutes into the subject. Don't make the same mistake, learn from mine :)

First thing first, why do we need virtual environments? Different Python projects require different packages to be installed.
